The help that I've gotten from here and YouTube far outweighs what I've found for the Fisherman. I play both on PS4 and seriously, I would have never switched if I knew then what I know now. I've found a couple of bugs in the Fisherman but can't even get an acknowledgement from the support team. You can at the least get a bit of support with that game. My opinion (for what it's worth), unless you can find an extremely good deal on the Fisherman, stick with FP. Of course, I'm probably one of the least experienced members here so I have learned a few things from The Fisherman. I had finally reached level 54 in FP but it took me a long while to reach it. Shoot, my 5-yo granddaughter was catching 1.9 pound striped bass at Lone Star on her first attempt. Personally I think the Fisherman is easier for a beginner because it gives you more details about the actual fishing experience than FP. Since I purchased a pre-owned disc, the price was less than half of what the PS4 store sells it for.

I think you level up faster in The Fisherman than in FP but that's about it. The lakes are practically the same as in FP and any changes that I have seen are minute. But I have discovered the DLC's aren't free as I thought they would be. The Fisherman is great for me simply because it gives me the opportunity to use some of the tricks and tips that you all have shared. And not being a pro, the info/support was useless. And then the fix was a total work around. It took me about four contacts to their support team to finally get a response to one question. When they say pro, they mean it literally. I need to learn a LOT more before I try Fishing Sim. I went crazy and bought Fishing Sim from PS4 store (full price - WOW!) and then bought a pre-owned disc for the Fisherman.
